Deep Speaks! is a book launch and literary reading.

Deep Speaks! is a knock-your-socks-off must-see cultural (literary) event in downtown Savannah, Georgia. Twice a year, Deep releases four new books featuring original, vivid, and fearless writing (stories, poems, and plays) composed by our youngest local authors—public middle school kids—during three months of hard work in Deep’s Young Author ProjectYou’ll be thrilled, moved, and impressed by the artistic merit and maturity of these literary works.

When: Monday, May 19th, at the 6:30pm (lobby doors at 6)

Where: The Historic Savannah Theatre at 222 Bull Street, GA 31401

How: It’s free and open to the public. Regular seating is first-come, first-served. The reading will start promptly at 6:30pm and will end at 8pm.

*Highlights: The books will be for sale for $12 each (the proceeds go back into funding the next printing of Deep Books) and the top pieces will be read on stage by 39 nominees for DeepKid Laureate, an honor bestowed upon the student with the most original, vivid, and fearless poetry and prose.
